A new survey of nearly 2,000 faculty members at U.S. law schools concludes that law professors strongly support free speech ​but often struggle to put it into practice on campus.

More ‌than half of the surveyed faculty members — 56% — reported at least occasionally feeling unable to express their opinions for fear of how students, colleagues or administrators would ​react, according to a report released Tuesday, opens new tab by the Foundation for ​Individual Rights and Expression, a nonprofit free speech advocacy group.
