In 1957, 8 talented PhDs employed by notoriously difficult Nobel Prize winner William Shockley left to establish Fairchild Semiconductor. Gordon Moore, Robert Noyce, Eugene Kleiner, Sheldon Roberts, Victor Grinich, Julius Blank, Jean Hoerni, Jay Last were young American patriots who became legends by building the tech industry as we know it.
