Labor Department Inspector General Anthony D’Esposito said Cognizant’s permanent labor certification (PERM) filings have been suspended as his office pursues alleged fraud in employment-based visa programs. In a Sep 8 post, D’Esposito said the Labor Department Office of Inspector General is “on the hunt,” working with Deputy Secretary nominee Keith Sonderling and the White House Fraud Task Force, and warned that “handcuffs await.”

Hours later he announced Cloudera’s PERM filings were likewise suspended, then said H-1B processing for Cognizant and Cloudera had been suspended as well.
